The Eastman real estate market has been in a very slow summer period. Typically summer is bustling with buyer’s buying and sellers selling. This year, sellers are sitting tight. There are currently 3 condos on the market and 8 homes. That is not a lot when the average Sumer inventory is usually 25+/- condos and 80+ homes. I think that interest rates are holding things back. With home pricing across the state still climbing, sellers don’t want to purchase at the top of the market and give up a mortgage that has a significantly lower rate than the rates that are offered today. I am hopeful that rates will start to decline this fall and the pace of sales will increase.
