Winter officially begins on December 21st, but for many ski resorts, the season has already started! While some may choose to hibernate for the cold months, The Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region has many options for the outdoor enthusiast! Skiing, snowshoeing, and skating can all be found nearby.
If downhill is your sport, you’ll find Mt. Sunapee Resort, Whaleback Mountain, and the Dartmouth Skiway. Between these three mountains, there are 126 trails (bunny slopes to black diamond) to barrel down. Whaleback Mountain has the only nighttime skiing in the local area. If cross country is more your speed, the Dartmouth Cross Country Ski Center, Eastman, and Dexter’s Inn all have beautifully groomed trails, rentals, and terrains for all abilities.
