A very good question arose based on my previous blog post.
The question is: “How are Eastman sales compared to New London NH and Hanover NH?”. I had to do some digging but this is what I found and the answer might surprise you.
If you read my previous post, Eastman home sales were up 16% 2015 over 2014. Eastman condo sales were up 74%, yes that’s correct!! Overall sales were up 30%. That’s a great move to the upside.
In New London, home sales were down 32% in 2015 compared to 2014. Condo sales were up 34% in the same time period. With condo sales being a smaller part of the market, they didn’t pull the overall sales out of the red. Total sales in New London were down 14% year over year.
Now to look at Hanover. I keep hearing how hot the market is up there and that prices are going up, up, up. These numbers should put some water on the fire. There not bad but things are as glowing as some people want you to think. Home sales were down 6% in 2015 compared to 2014. Condo sales were up 8% and total sales were down 3% in 2015 compared to 2014.
All these numbers are based on MLS statistics and do not include private or non MLS sales. I know there were probably a few in each area but there is no way for me to actually track those without massive amounts of work and the percentage’s will change very little. No land sales were figured into these statistics.
