Another year has come and gone and 2014 was a tough one for Real Estate!!
Sales were down not just in Eastman but many of the local towns were down also. I would be happy to talk about the surrounding towns at some point but lets stick to Eastman here.
In 2013 there were 55 home sales. In 2014 there were 41, that’s just about a 25% drop!! Of course it could be worse, in 2011 there were only 27 homes sold but in 2005 there were 71.
Based on the activity I’ve seen so far this year, it’s going to be a good year. Showings of properties have been strong and interest rates are really low at this time. My prediction is that home sales will total in the high 50’s again for 2015 but it will be great if I’m wrong and we get into the 60+ home sale range!!
